Andrew and Jesse Winchester

Andrew Talbert  and Jesse Winchester after the show last night at the Gravity Lounge In Charlottesville, Virginia. What a great night. I have waited almost 30 years to see this man play a show. Thanks Jeese!

On the counter is my copy of Jesse’s 1977 release ‘Nothing But a Breeze” I bought this album when I was 18 years old! I can never get enough Jesse Winchester music. Seeing him perform live is a real treat!

I should tell the whole story. Before the show I was talking with Jesse’s son James and wife Cindy for quite a while as there were not many people around and it was early. I showed them all the albums I brought and they talked to me for a while. Just before the show started Cindy came to my table which was right in front of the microphone stand. She asked me if I could part with one of the two unopened copies of “Nothing Like A Breeze” I had with me. It seems that Jesse did not have a copy. I stood up and handed her one of them and said it would be my pleasure to give you this. I will ask a favor…I was planning to get one of them autographed after the show for my friend Steve Huntington who like I am is a huge fan of Mr. Winchester. How about we get him a cd copy autographed so I can give it to him. She smiled and said sure I will meet you up front after the show. So it seems there were multiple good deeds done that night. Honestly the show blew me away to the point of tears at one point. What a night and what awesome memories.
