Steve Earle at the Carolina Theatre in Greensboro

Steve Earle

http://steveearle.com  When I picked up these tickets for this show I had to think ‘Had I seen Steve Earle?” I was in a Key West daze sitting in my rocking chair at the Coconut Beach Resort mid-week overlooking the water on south end of Key West as I thought about it. Yeah I probably had something cold in my hand as I was on holiday from reality. Key West and music are two places I go to escape my reality. They both work on different levels. Back to Steve Earle. I was on my iPad trying to remember my password to get into the place I needed to be to score great seats. I never did remember that password but I did phone up a person who helped me score second row seats right beside my brother Brian. Fast forward several weeks and we are sipping something cold and local made in a very early fall afternoon sunlight.  The next thing I know Steve Earle is on the stage and it all comes back to me. Yeah I have seen Steve several times and if I weren’t in a huge hurry to leave tonight given the 5:15 alarm in the morning I would go by and see him. Missed that one. But I do recall the last time I saw Steve Earle. It was in Asheville at the Warren Haynes Xmas Jam. http://downsouthradiohour.blogspot.com/search?q=steve+earle  I still say my favorite album of his is “The Revolution Starts Now.” I remember playing some cuts from that one on Radiomargaritaville a few years back. Great stuff. Go see this guy. He is still rocking.

Until next time, I’ll see you, down the road.

Steve Earle talks about many things including Record Store Day and vinyl.
